8 billion on Earth
4 billion on networks
Communities, histories, and practices different
principles remain the same
live, love, laugh, leave something of ourselves behind
We're 10,000 BC bodies with 2100 AD dreams
Greatest migration of humanity has only just begun
There are now about 8 billion people on Earth.
Their cultures, traditions and rituals are different but the principles they live by are the same.
There are about 4 billion people on the world's social networks.
Their communities, histories and practices are different but the principles they have are the same.
The principles of humanity go back to the beginning.
We want to live, love, laugh and leave something of ourselves behind.
For most of history, we lived and stayed in the same familiar places for generations - not anymore.
We're 10,000 BC bodies with 2100 AD dreams.
We're both homebodies and wanderers.
Next we will journey upward, towards the stars, but we're also going inwards.
We will find and create new worlds. This is something we have done since the caves.
A few dozen remarkable humans have made it to space, and more are coming
The greatest migration of humanity has only just begun.
The challenge is we're human.
It's not all good, glittering and glorious, but that the way it is. It won't matter how many worlds we explore and how many worlds we build, we stay human. The new worlds we're going to live in may be different but the real rules of humanity remain.
We must take care.
"The world is going to crack wide open. There is something on the horizon. A massive connectivity.
The barriers between us will disappear, and we’re not ready...
It’s a huge danger, a gigantic risk, but it’s worth it, if only we can learn to take care of each other...." - "You Are Not Safe", (HALT & CATCH FIRE)"
