These Are Going To Be "Heads Up" Messages
Everybody Will Use Notes In Different Ways, Here Are Mine
Heavens help me, this is my “official” post of how I will use Notes for 3 purposes:
I will write things over time that I do NOT email to you, because they are “long”, and I have both mercy and fear in my heart about sharing them with you. Everything lives in the “archive”. Please give them a read when you’re free.
I will share a reminder of something I’m working on, a kind of “last week’s episode” recap/lead-in to an updated for a series (like book chapters) or project.
This is the bucket for the “rest”.
Here’s a sample. It’s not representative of everything, so much as my “way” so far:
… and now for some altered boilerplate…
Some recommendations, because they helped me and I NEVER want to forget people who are both awesome in what they do and still make time to encourage me:
The Commonplace is written by long time acquaintance and friend, Thomas J. Bevan, founder of the Soaring Twenties Social Club. Tom and the “STSC” is the reason that I wrote the final quarter of a “Book #2”, “Harvest” on my own Substack.
The Rotation Report is written by a saavy investor and friend, Aaron, who is an irreverent market writer, whose wry and trenchant wit tells tales of the tape with charts. He keeps it low-key and real. This is NOT investment advice. :)
Invariant is written by Devin LaSarre who focuses on a corner of old fashioned investing in businesses and old school creative writing, both done well. Also NOT investment advice. :D
Invariant explores finance with curiosity, creativity, and skepticism.
The Cairo Dispatch by Samantha Childress, writes with sincerity and thoughtfulness, about her life, her travel and life abroad. She shares delightful ideas and photos too.
I want to take you on adventures through lush descriptions and gorgeous photos, while always striving to find meaning in the inner journeys that happen in parallel with real-world excursions.
Last BUT NOT least
Infinite Loops by my friend Jim O’Shaughnessy and his team OSV at O’Shaughnessy Ventures.
In an era of uncertainty, the ability to think dynamically and avoid getting trapped in infinite loops of thought is more important than ever.
Whether we’re discussing ancient Chinese philosophy, the history of finance, or cutting-edge advances in artificial intelligence, Jim’s passion, experience, and eclectic range of interests, combined with our extensive research into our podcast guests, always result in surprising conversations which substantively engage with our guests’ ideas.
… We now return you to your regularly scheduled boilerplate …
