Two years ago, I began to do something because I needed to do something that wasn’t self-destructive to body, mind and spirit, for escape. Those of you who know anything about me knew what life was like. I chose writing and that’s what I do.
The escape became experimentation with writing, it led to writing and some books.
I revisited those first two months of 2021, and edited them into shorter pieces with art.
Only a few of the 30 daily pieces were sent to you in earlier emails.
Daily can be a bit much, and you all have too much on your plates and in your inbox.
Below are links to some of them, about 10. I finished #30 yesterday.
They’re each about a “minute long” read + art.
It was good to do this. I needed a reminder of what put me on this path 2 years ago.
So, I have to go back to finishing the edits of “Box Of Stars” and “Harvest”.*
(*Everything was written “in public” (ugh, what a phrase) and posted on twitter daily for 18+ months. I put #1 into a Notion page, #2 in typeshare.)
Anyway, please check out the art.
Still here? Here’s the substack archive link, it holds them all, art from collages made with Canva or from lexica searches of stable diffusion images.
Below is the one that meant the most to me, looking back I see I wasn’t just writing about the sun even though I was.
These were the sources of inspiration for two books. A writing friend reached out to me after the following 2 pieces were written and told me to write a book.
This was a vision of the distant future in faraway places for those two books.
